Programmes Manager

•Provide general oversight and support to the Head of Programmes in defining roles and responsibilities for WAG WASH service delivery programmes and projects to achieve Country strategy

Support the strategic planning and monitoring processes of the Country Program through the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems, workplans, baseline studies, performance indicators, results frameworks, theory of change, etc. in line with WAG M&E Operational Plans and other WA guidance
•Ensure that WaterAid’s WASH agenda, strength based and Pro-Poor approaches, risk management, Health and Safety strategies/ guidelines/policies, user protocol and sustainability frameworks are implemented in all aspects of Southern programmes and projects.
•Support capacity building of partners and programme staff through project technical and soft issues advice and coaching. Ensure facilities are built to standard and community entry approaches are in line with WA protocols and values. Establish strong relationship with counterpart in Implementing Partner organizations to ensure timely delivery of work.
•Supervise assigned programme officer(s) and other junior departmental staff utilizing good performance management practices and compliance with WAG People and Organizational Development/HR Policies.
•Periodically attend senior management team meetings and support efforts to build positive staff morale and organizational culture.

• Develop and nurture good relations within WAG and with WAG development partners, government institutions, traditional and emergent leaders, and the communities that WAG operates in by maintaining an overview of all key activities;

Minimum Education: Masters Degree

Qualifications: • University Degree or professional qualification in relevant subject such as engineering (civil, mechanical, hydrogeology, water supply and sanitation, environmental), programme/project management, developmental studies, social sciences). • Masters Degree (Desirable) civil engineering, water supply and sanitation engineering, Programme design, implementation and evaluation, project management, developmental studies, geology/hydrogeology. •Minimum of 6 yrs experience in Programme planning, development and management at middle level. •Strong Project management experience and knowledge of approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle, including evaluation and impact assessment, theories of change, and innovations in community development and behavior change communication. •Computer-literate (word processing & spreadsheet packages including power point, excel, management information systems). •Must be a team player and able to work with and through others. •Successful history of high level partnership development and representation, including working with various donors (DFID, USAID, UN, EU, etc) •Must be eligible to work in Ghana.
